Pet Adoption with ASAP Rescue

In November of 2010, the owners of Petland in The Village of East Side developed and implemented a rescue only format for their Petland Store in East Liberty. The program was called, A.S.A.P. for Animal Shelter Adoption Program. The store worked with shelters and rescue groups as an outlet for puppies, kittens, dogs, cats and bunnies in need of forever homes. Being housed at Petland provided these pets with additional visibility to the public, helping them find homes faster.

The success that the Animal Shelter Adoption Program experienced over the years eventually blossomed into what has now become ASAP Rescue Inc. A 501(c)3 Non-Profit pet rescue. Petland Village of East Side is proud to partner with ASAP Rescue to make rescue pets available to their customers.

All of the pets adopted from ASAP rescue are vaccinated, dewormed and checked by a Veterinarian prior to leaving the store. There is also a program in place to ensure that all ASAP pets are spayed or neutered at an appropriate age. In addition, all ASAP pets are microchipped for identification and registered for life with AKC re-uniite to help prevent runaway pets from ending up on the streets or in a shelter.
